Growth of American Families, 1955 and 1960
| These studies focus on women's attitudes
toward fertility and family planning in 1955 and 1960. A group
of child-bearing age women in the nation was interviewed using
an area probability sample procedure. Information about their
attitudes toward marriage, contraception and children was collected.
Additional demographic and socioeconomic variables were included
to identify factors influencing their family planning and fertility
