Abstract: The Cross-Site Analysis File is a public use microdata file containing employment, income, and demographic information for a large sample of persons covering a time span of over four years in four distinct geographic areas. The sample of 13, 748 persons represented on the file includes persons who were enrolled as family heads in the New Jersey, Gary, Ind., Seattle (SIME), and Denver (DIME) Income Maintenance Experiments sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services during the past 12 years. The Cross-Site File contains a record for each person enrolled as an original family member in one of the four named experiments who was or became the male or female head of a sample family within six months of enrollment. Each 'principal person' record contains data on 1) Experimental treatment variables, 2) Demographic characteristics and composition of the person's family, 3) Unearned income sources (primarily for the family, but some for the principal person and his or her spouse), also some family expenses, 4) Employment and earnings of the principal person, 5) Selected employment and earnings data for the principal person's spouse, 5) Selected employment and earnings data for all other adults residing in the family with the principal person.
