This site carries data and documentation from the Roll of Emigrants to Liberia between 1820 and 1843, representing individuals who were brought to the colony by the American Colonization Society. Also included are data and documentation for the 1843 Liberian Census.
Emigrants to Liberia between 1820 and 1843
Variables include place of origin, place of arrival, status
of individual, level of literacy, occupation, date of death, cause of
death, and name of the ship which carried the emigrant to Liberia.

1843 Liberian Census
Variables include age, number of members in family, date of arrival
in the colony, connections in the colony, occupation, education, health,
family status and place of settlement.
