Abstract: This data set assembles information on social, economic and demographic characteristics assessed from Census Bureau Current Population Surveys conducted in 1979, 1980 and 1981. Information on each person's mortality status nine years after baseline is also on the data set. The data contain no personal identifiers. There are 637,162 records (persons) on this data set, of whom 42,919 died in the in the 9-year follow-up period. Variables include marital status, race, income, occupation, industry, employment status, education, and various death indicators such as cause of death, date and time of death, and place of death.
