Abstract: The German Social Survey monitors social trends in Germany. The central topics of this investigation focus on economics, the job market, education and professional fulfillment, social inequality and the welfare state, attitudes toward and contacts with foreigners living in Germany, political attitudes, the united Germany, the family, and altered gender roles. Basic demographic characteristics of respondents also were collected.
