Abstract: This survey was conducted by the Gallup Organizatioin between May 4 and June 16 in 1996. The sample was drawn from the national adult population with an oversample of Blacks, Hispanics and those with incomes over $60,000. There are 248 variables in the study. The major topics are personal finances, confidence in institution, volunteering, residing community, monetary contributions, decision to contribute, charitable organizations, payroll deduction, trust, spent time, federal tax return, will, personal history, family volunteering, country of origin, religion, organizational member.
