Abstract: International Corps Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) conducted a farm-level study of production and marketing behavior between May 1981 and December 1985. A sample of 150 farming households located in six villages from three principal agroclimatic zones of Burkina Faso was surveyed. Topics include household census, input and output crop production at the plot level, characteristics of plots, weights of local units of measure, crops and livestock sold and given as gifts, crops and livestock purchases and received as gifts, labor use and income in off-farm and non-agricultural employment, market prices of crops, farm inputs purchased, rented, repaired and received as gifts, plot-level input-output summary, retrospective summary of expenditures and revenues for non-agricultural employment, seasonal labor migration and migration income, remittances and pensions, and crop prices.
