Abstract: This survey was conducted between April 10-13 in 1987. Its sample size is 1571 national adults. Major topics include: rating of public schools(2); local, state and federal influence in public schools(3); raising academic standards(3); educational achievement test scores(3); percentage of federal taxes directed to school system(2); voucher system(3); subjects college bound students should take(13); subjects students not going to college should take(13); sex education(20); teaching ethics and values in public schools(11); school prayer(5); awareness and level of concern over various public education issues(29).
