Comments: The database consists of a set of spreadsheets formatted for Excel 5.0/Windows workbooks. All the files are stored as self-expanding archives on a 3 1/2 inches floppy disk. DPLS staff uncompressed these files and wrote them onto a CD-ROM. The files are organized in 11 subdirectories by their topics. Check any corrections for these files. Abstract: This database contains all the data published in the 2000 edition of State of the World, Vital Signs, Worldwatch paper and magazines. Topics include agriculture, food and consumption, health, biodiversity, climate change, transportation, population, security, global economics, alternative energy, and many other environmentally related trends. Many of the time series tables cover more than 40 years of data, others show projections into 21st century. The data has been gathered from a wide variety of international and national sources including the World Bank, United Nations, Food and Agriculture Organization, World Health Organization, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Commerce and many other research organizations.
