Abstract: This file provides 7 measures of social capital for Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. These measures are taken from different sources: 1. Roper: served as officer of club or organization (percent), 2. Roper: attended meeting on town or school affairs (percent), 3. 501(c)(3) organizations per capita, 1989, 4. GSS: Mean number of group memberships, 5. GSS: "Most people can be trusted", 6. Civic and social organization per 1000 pop, 1977-1992 (from FICA records) and 7. Mean Presidential Election Turnout, 1988 & 1992
