Abstract: This poll was conducted via telephone surveys on February 29, 2000. Its sample consists of 1,832 exiting voters. There are 48 variables on issues such as: Voted for George W. Bush/Alan Keyes/John McCain in Republican presidential primary (1); when decided who to vote for (1); which one issue mattered most in deciding vote (1); only Republicans/all registered voters should have been allowed to vote in primary (1); which one candidate quality mattered most in deciding vote (1); prefer a candidate who is loyal to Republican party/not tied to party leaders (1); abortion (1); think George W. Bush has the knowledge to serve effectively as president (1); think John McCain says one thing but does another when it comes to campaign finance (1); member of religious right (1); opinion of George W. Bush (1); opinion of John McCain (1); George W. Bush/John McCain more likely to beat the Democratic presidential nominee in November (1); cutting taxes/strengthening Social Security should be a higher priority for the next president (1); George W. Bush did/did not attack John McCain unfairly (1); John McCain did/did not attack George W. Bush unfairly (1); George W. Bush/John McCain real reformers (1); candidate's positions on issues or leadership/personal qualities more important (1); George W. Bush/John McCain more likely to say what he really believes (1); would vote for Al Gore/George W. Bush (1); would vote for Al Gore/John McCain (1); John McCain too conservative/not conservative enough/about right (1); regularly use Internet (1); ever served in U.S. military (1); personal finances (1).
