Abstract: This statewide survey was conducted as the fourth of an ongoing series of surveys which function as the "poll of record" for Wisconsin, examining a wide variety of topics of concern to state residents, including politics, but going beyond that to questions of how state residents view their lives, work, and families. This fourth survey was underwritten by private funds available to the University of Wisconsin Madison with support from the Capital Times (Madison) and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, who served as media co-sponsors. Interviews were conducted by a random digit dial telephone survey of 525 state residents interviewed from Ocotber 24th to 29th. It has a margin of error of about plus or minus four percent. Topics included in this poll are gubernatorial choice, ethics and honesty, state government spending, tax burden, health care, public education, creating jobs, environment, abortion and help cities and towns.
