Abstract: This poll was conducted via telephone surveys on May 7-9, 2004. Its sample consists of 1,003 adults. There are 140 variables on topics such as: How much thought has respondent given to upcoming presidential election (1); how often vote (1); respondent does/does not plan to vote in presidential election this November (2); John Kerry vs. George W. Bush (5); John Kerry vs. George W. Bush vs. Ralph Nader (2); George W. Bush job performance (4); direction of country (1); Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld job performance (1); war in Iraq (2); number of U.S. troops in Iraq (2); abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. soldiers (17); U.S. soldiers generally do/do not have higher standards of behavior than soldiers from most other countries (1); U.S. generally does/does not have higher moral principles for going to war than most other countries (1); respondent/member of household has/has not ever served in U.S. military (1).
