Abstract: This poll was conducted via telephone surveys between May 4-7 in 1989. Its sample consists of 1,239 national adults. There are 62 variables on topics such as: Bush job performance(1); most important problem facing the country(1); knowledge of public figures(3); interest in current news stories(15); impressions of public figures and institutions(8); Oliver North and Iran-Contra(3); environmental problems and the Alaskan oil spill(23).
