Comments: This copy was made from a depository CD-Rom borrowed from the State Historical Society Library (SHSL). Its call number is C3.204/4:991-92. Data files are in dBASE format. They can be read by Microsoft Access. The CBP.exe, a data retrival program is not installed on the public-used PCs at DPLS. This CD-Rom contains complete set of the CBP data for 1992 in two-, three- and four-digit levels of the SIC system. The CBP download page only provides two-digit SIC summary of the data. 4/2006 A data extracting program, Extract is not installed on the current public-use PCs in DPLS. Users are recommended to use the dBASE files on the CD-Rom. Users need to Work with a statistical consultant to convert these dBASE files to a format they can use.

Abstract: The total number of business establishments, mid-March employment figures, and first quarter and annual payrolls are supplied in this data collection at the county, state, and national levels. Also provided are data on the number of establishments by employment-size class. Data are provided for most divisions of the economy, including agricultural services, mining, construction, manufacturing, transportation, public utilities, wholesale trade, retail trade, finance, insurance, real estate, and services. However, data are not included for agriculture production, railroad, government, or household employment. Included with this aggregate data collection is a file containing 1987 revised Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) designations used with data from 1988 and later years.
