Abstract: These data were compiled in an effort to assess the dynamics of the slave trade in terms of the types of slaves shipped between the provinces their place of origin, and their impact on the importing and exporting zones. The key question relating to this trade was the extent of its impact on the supply of slaves for the new coffee plantations of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
