Abstract: This statewide survey was conducted as the twentieth of an ongoing series of surveys which function as the "poll of record" for Wisconsin, examining a wide variety of topics of concern to state residents, including politics, but going beyond that to questions of how state residents view their lives, work, and families. This survey was underwritten by private funds available to the University of Wisconsin Madison with support from the Capital Times (Madison) and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, who served as media co-sponsors. Most of the results are based on a statewide random digit dial telephone survey of 501 randomly chosen state residents interviewed from March 8 to 16. It has a margin of error of about plus or minus four percent. Topics included in this poll are social security, Presedient Bush's performance, state priority, job satisfaction, democracy and women.
