Abstract: This study was conducted by Audits and Surveys, Inc. for ABC (the American Broadcasting Company) and was carried out during the week of February 12-19, 1968. A sample of registered Democrats and Republicans in New Hampshire was asked to indicate which candidate it favored. Other questions on party identification, past voting behavior, political interest and issue saliency were also included in the study, along with basic demographic information for the 1,143 respondents. The data are weighted to 2810.9 (3 cards of data per respondent and 111 variables). NOTE: CBS News, CBS News with The New York Times, and CBS News with the Los Angeles Times have conducted a series of nationwide polls. These investigators have made these data available to the public through ICPSR. The polls are conducted regularly (usually on a monthly basis) and collect information on the United States public's opinion on various national issues. The polls which focus primarily on political matters are described below. Other CBS News, CBS News/The New York Times, and CBS News/Los Angeles Times data collections are described elsewhere in this Guide, catalogued according to their topic.
