Abstract: The interviews inquired about the respondents' voting behavior in the 1961 and 1965 elections and the reasons for their 1965 decision. The respondents' reliance on and confidence in a variety of political information sources was also measured, as well as their level of political interest. The survey also included scalometers which were used in evaluating the major political figures of 1965. Semantic differential measures and scalometers were used to evaluate the major political parties. This dataset contains 1,305 respondents, weighted to 1,313.5 in the form of 271 variables. Interviews were conducted with a national area probability sample of voting age citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany interviewed in October 1965 after the federal elections.
