Abstract: Both data files contain responses to questions about career details (date and length of all appointments, status, type of institution); economic information (annual salary, allowances from employer, benefits, fees, consultations, total earnings, expectations related to professional work); academic profile (subject area of expertise, year completed degree, qualifications, secondary school education); attitudes toward the academic profession (reasons for entering academia, support for training courses in teaching, increase of undergraduates, quality of undergraduate work); background information (sex, age, present nationality, martial status, number and total of dependent children, length of working week, occupation of parents, length and means of transportation to and from work, cost of transportation, accommodations, rent details, monthly average expenditures). In addition, the Interview Survey presented questions related to satisfaction with university life, motives for change of job, importance of working abroad, view of academic salaries, qualities of a good undergraduate teacher, methods to assess teaching performance, working conditions, outside consulting, support for policies advocated by students, and attitudes toward students.
