Abstract: The data for this study are derived from questionnaires obtained in 1967 from salaried employees of a group of 14 manufacturing firms drawn from two longestablished industrial areas in two different parts of the country. Questions were asked about the distribution of power among divisions of the company, the discretion allowed employees, the individual influence of employees, and the coordination of individuals and groups within the firm. 2,633 respondents, 3 cards of data per respondent, and approximately 180 variables.
