Abstract: The data file contains responses to questions concerning the ideal number of children, attitude towards adoption, population growth in the U.S. as a serious problem, major problems facing world in the next 30 years as compared to population growth, knowledge of population growth in U.S. and other countries, satisfaction with population size in area where respondent is living, support for government regulation of population growth (e.g., immigration, birth control information, abortion), support for the legalization of abortion, support for teaching sex education and birth control in the schools, view of causes of pollution in the U.S., and satisfaction with government performance (federal, state, local). Personal data include state/region where now residing, birthplace in U.S., birthplace of parents, ethnic origin on father's side, language spoken at home as a child, sex, race, where spend childhood, religious affiliation and church attendance, marital status, educational attainment, number of children, political affiliation, political participation, voting behavior.
