Abstract: The data file contains demographic information relating to respondent's place of residence, sex, age, education, occupation, monthly income, monthly income of household, religion, marital status, family size, number of children (sons and daughters). The respondent was also asked questions regarding prices, family expenditures, adequacy of food, standard of living, satisfaction with job, education, income, work preference, caste system, optimism in the future, life after death, morality, divorce. Family planning and fertility questions asked were about knowledge of family planning, where information obtained, ideal size of family, satisfaction with present number of children, visit to family planning center, practice of method of family planning, necessity of family planning for India.
