Abstract: Selected decks of the amalgam survey deal with child abuse. Respondent was asked whether he had knowledge of the problem, his sources of information, what should be done, who has primary responsibility, what he would do if he learned of or actually saw a child abused, causes, knowledge of educational programs, agencies in the community which could be called upon, if he had heard of any incidents during the past year, if he had personal knowledge of child abuse, who was injured, age of injured, who injured child, if medical treatment was received, if hospitalization was necessary, if incident was reported to a law enforcement agency, if action was taken by a court, where child lived after incident, anything done by respondent after incident, background of the abuser. Demographic variables include: sex, race, marital status, age and sex of children, education, occupation, household's main wage earner and his occupation, level of education, religious preference, birth place, yet or birth, income.
