Abstract: This collection contains standard data on labor force activity for the week prior to the survey. Comprehensive data are available on the employment status, occupation, and industry of persons 14 years old and over. Also supplied are personal characteristics such as age, sex, race, marital status, veteran status, household relationship, educational background, and Spanish origin. In addition, supplemental data pertaining to fertility and birth expectations are included in this file. Data are presented for females ages 14 to 59 on marital status, date of first marriage, number of children ever born, and date of birth of the most recent child born. Currently married females ages 14 to 40 were also queried regarding the number of additional children they expect to have within the next five years.

UNIVERSE: All persons 14 years and over in the civilian noninstitutional population of the United States living in households.

SAMPLE: A probability sample consisting of approximately 55,000 households was selected to represent the universe.
