Abstract: The data file consists of responses to questions relating to the respondent's: perception of how his life has changed in the last few years, preference in areas to live in, location of childhood residence, number of children, perception of ideal number of children, father's occupation, father's schooling, schooling, desire to continue school at the time that he left school, an adequate level of education, job satisfaction, future plans, past hopes, standard of living as compared to five years previously, future standard of living income necessary to live as would want, social class, father's social class, number of visits to friends and relatives, preference for visiting friends or relatives, perception of the number of years of schooling his children will get, perception or expectation of the occupation that his children will exercise, perception of what he would do with the money if he won a lottery, a number of personal data items such as age, marital status, age at marriage, occupational position, length of employment with firm, length of residence. The study also contains a number of questions used to set up scales measuring modern activism, integration with relatives, preference for urban life, individualism, trust, mass-media participation, risk taking, family modernism and a number of other items generally relating to modern orientations.
