Abstract: This study contains complete roll call records for the approximately 1,900 votes taken in both chambers of the three Confederate Congresses. Limited error checks have been carried out on the data, and errors discovered have been corrected. Complete descriptions of the roll calls voted upon are found in the Journal of the Congress of the Confederate States of America, 1862-1865, seven volumes (Washington 1904-1905). Data for the Confederate Congresses are available in member format. A small biographical file (approximately 300 card-images) is also available and includes data about all of those who were seated in any of the Confederate Congresses. In addition to each member's name, state, district, party, and vocation, this file contains information about the extent of the Congressman's landholdings, the number of slaves held, whether the district was occupied by union troops, and the member's stand on secession. There are approximately 15,000 card-image equivalents.
