Abstract: Data are provided on labor force activity for the week prior to the survey. Comprehensive data are available on the employment status, occupation, and industry of persons 14 years old and over. Also shown are personal characteristics such as age, sex, race, marital status, veteran status, household relationship, educational background, and Spanish origin. Additional statistics show total family income, work schedule, number of days and hours usually worked, usual weekly or hourly earnings, premium pay, reasons for dual jobholding, and union membership. Also furnished are data on pension plan coverage, employee contribution, and pension provisions made by the self-employed. This file also contains matched data from the March and June, 1979 surveys. Records for individuals in the four rotations common to March and May (May month in sample 3,4,7, and 8) include the income and work experience data from the March CPS. June 1979 earnings, collected for the two outgoing rotations in that month (May month in sample 3 and 7) are included on the appropriate records.
