Abstract: For the Base Year, the file contains data on school records, high school experiences (year of graduation, courses, work, extra-curricular activities, use of guidance counselor, peer information), attitudes and opinions (education, social experiences, financial support beyond high school), career aspirations, detailed job plans, ethnic group, family financial support, number of brothers or sisters, language spoken at home, residency, educational attainment of parents, desires of parents, schooling, family income, consumer attainment of parents, desires of parents, schooling, family income, consumer items found at home, career plans, occupation of father and mother (or guardian). First year follow-up includes general information on present status, opinions about self and future, education and training, civilian work experience for jobs held in October 1972 and October 1973, military service, information about the past, background information. Second year follow-up includes general information about work in October 1974, education and training work experience for jobs from October 1973 through October 1974, family status, military service, activities and opinions (voluntary association participation, politics, quality of life, future), information about the past. Activity Status Questionnaire (follow-up) included information on work, schooling, military duty, general information about the high school program.
