Abstract: The survey of rural cooperatives was conducted to ascertain the experience of cooperatives funded under three U.S. federal programs as a basis for considering their future support. Data include demographic characteristics of the coop members and employees, products produced and sold, work spent on production, prices obtained for products, consumer goods bought with money earned through the cooperative, services provided by the cooperative, obstacles faced by the coop, training provided by the coop, work history previous to joining and for the coop; and financial status, marketing ability, and geographic information on the coop. The number of cooperatives selected was 18.
