Abstract: The study was designed to discover if and how situational factors determine decision making and information use. Specific objectives included what types of people can benefit from information; which specific services are most relevant to those individuals who can and will utilize them. Information includes location of small farms, educational and medical facilities, work habits, monetary expenditures, methods of selling and buying, credit, reading habits, accessibility to technical assistance and use of such assistance, employment on the farm, use of time on the farm, and attitudes toward farming in Columbia, and respondent's aspirations.
